Would you like to help with landscape care on a regular basis? A very small group of church members work year around on the landscape projects around the church. If you would like to pitch in, send an email to DaleBargen@gmail.com . A regular time is Wednesday mornings, but the weeds have flexible schedules if that doesn't match yours.
BPC sends a lot of information via email. Are you on the list? You can subscribe multiple addresses - spouse, home, work, child. Even grandma. Send a note with detail to DaleBargen@gmail.com . Mailings include the bulletin, announcements, monthly newsletter, volunteer schedule, ministers' inspirations and the calendar. Some information is also sent via a Facebook page - search for Friends of Buford Presbyterian and join.

BPC members Susan Bacon and Sandra Henderson are coordinating two of the Celebrate Service Music Festival athletic events on Saturday, October 2. They need lots of volunteers. Susan’s critical needs for the 30 mile bike ride are: 3 mature volunteers to start the 30 mile bike ride at Suwanee Town Center park (7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. commitment); 2 – 3 more volunteers trained in CPR and first aid at rest stops (7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.); a volunteer at the Ruby Forest entrance to George Pearce park (9:00 – 11:30 a.m.); and several other volunteers to route bikes along the ride. Sandra needs 5 volunteers for the 5 mile bike ride to help on the bike trail (Suwanee Greenway) or at the registration table (12:30 – 2:30). Contact Susan or Sandra as soon as possible.
BPC maintains a photo directory. If you have not had your family photo made recently, see Dale Bargen in the lobby area either before or after the 11am service. To see your current photo, visit www.fotki.com/BufordPres . If the family photo is missing any children, you need a new photo. If you look a lot younger in that photo, perhaps you don't want a new one. Pick up a new directory anytime outside the Church office. Please save and reuse your directory cover. Just take a set of pages if you already have a cover.
Buford Presbyterian has trained Stephen Ministers. Stephen Ministers are lay people from our congregation who are trained to provide distinctly Christian, one-on-one care to those suffering personal crisis. Care receivers reap many blessings throughout this caring ministry. Call the church office (770) 945-6711, or a Stephen Leader.
AMIGOS FOR CHRIST goes local. This is the second year Amigos has awarded a $10,000 grant to the local, participating nonprofit deemed most worthy, in terms of event participation level, enthusiasm, and creativity in presenting its cause at a booth the day of the Celebrate Service Music Festival. Last year Annandale Village (homes for the developmentally delayed) won. For those of you who don’t receive our group emails, there are flyers for the Celebrate Service Music Festival events (biking, 5K run, 3v3 soccer, golf, 2 man corn hole bean bag toss and dessert bake-off on the table in the narthex.
